Premises and Safety Features

Whitehall House is a detached, three-bedroom bungalow designed to accommodate up to two children or young people, aged between 8 and 17 years of either gender. The home is suitable for short-, medium-, or long-term placements, offering a safe, comfortable, and well-equipped living environment.

Access

and Fire Exits:

The property is equipped with three external exits, each connected to separate hallways, ensuring adequate and safe means of escape in the event of an emergency:

  • Two exits are located at the rear of the home, both opening into the large garden, which also features a side entrance.
  • One of these rear exits is via French doors leading from the second lounge into the garden.
  • The other is located next to the kitchen and provides an alternative access point to the garden.
  • The main entrance at the front of the home opens into a porch area, followed by the main internal entrance into the home.

This layout supports effective fire safety by providing multiple accessible exit routes.

Facilities and Layout:

  • The home includes two ensuite bedrooms, each fitted with lockable doors to ensure privacy for young people.
  • There are two additional bathrooms, one designated for staff use and the other for children and young people.
  • Bedrooms are equipped with good-sized wardrobes and other essential furnishings to promote comfort and organisation.
  • Internet and ICT facilities are available to support education, communication, and recreational needs.
  • There is a wide range of learning aids and resources.
  • A kitchen where we cook our meals fresh. Children and young people are encouraged to help in the kitchen and can choose snacks or drinks when they wish.
  • A large, comfortable lounge furnished to a high standard with a dining area
  • . We also use this space to relax and watch our SMART TV or play game consoles.
  • In addition is a second lounge for relaxation and for children to host their families and friends.
  • To the rear of the building there is a tranquil garden which gives the opportunity for relaxation, reflection and leisure.
